1. Introduction
Please review these terms and conditions thoroughly, as they outline the rules for your stay and your responsibilities when staying as a guest at Domu Retreat, in particular while using the outdoor facilities. By checking in, you agree to follow all terms listed below.
2. Booking and Payment
- All rates are quoted in New Zealand dollars and include New Zealand Goods and Services Tax (GST) 15%
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit or full payment, as specified during reservation.
- The 100% of the outstanding balance must be paid 60 days before the check-in date.
- All guests must provide a valid identification before or at check-in.
- Credit card details are required at check-in where they will be securely stored and may be used to cover any damages to property. Read our Privacy Policy to learn more about storing sensitive information
3. Guest Policy
- No guests under the age of 16 are permitted in the guesthouse.
- No pets are allowed under any circumstances.
- Strictly no smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
4. Check-in and Check-out
- Check-in time: from 2:00 pm on the day of arrival.
- Check-out time: by 11:00 am on the day of departure.
- Late check-outs may incur additional charges and are subject to availability.
5. House Rules
- Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 pm to 7:00am to respect other guests and neighbours.
- Credit card details may be charged for any damage to property or loss caused during your stay.
- Parties are strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises.
- No music is allowed by the pool or in the wellness area, including the sauna and spa, to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.
- No equipment can be removed from the yoga studio unless with prior agreement
- Alcohol consumption is permitted only if the alcohol has been purchased on the premises and served by Domu Retreat hosts. The hosts reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol at their discretion.
6. Use of Swimming Pool, Sauna, and Spa
- All guests use the swimming pool, sauna, and spa at their own risk.
- No lifeguard is on duty at any time.
- Showering before entering the pool or spa is required.
- Running, diving, or rough play is strictly prohibited in and around the pool area.
- Guests must follow all posted safety instructions and facility guidelines.
7. Personal Responsibility and Liability
- All guests are responsible for their own safety when using the swimming pool, sauna, and spa.
- The guesthouse owners and staff accept no liability for injury, illness, loss, or damage incurred as a result of using these facilities.
- Guests with medical conditions, such as heart problems, high blood pressure, or pregnancy, should consult a doctor before using the sauna or spa.
- Use of the pool, sauna, or spa while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted.
- Any accidents or injuries must be reported to guest house staff immediately.
8. Security and Personal Belongings
- Guests are responsible for their own belongings. The guesthouse is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged property.
- Please ensure doors and windows are securely locked when leaving the property.
9. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations must be made in writing via email or booking platform.
- Refunds are subject to a cancellation fee as specified below.
- If a booking is cancelled within 30 days of arrival, a cancellation fee of 100% of the booking value will apply.
- If a booking is cancelled between 60 and 30 days before arrival, a cancellation fee of 50% of the booking value will apply.
- If a booking is cancelled more than 60 days before arrival, a full refund will be issued, minus an administrative fee of NZD 250.00
- No refunds are given for early departures or no-shows.
- We strongly recommend that guests have a valid travel insurance, as Domu Retreat accepts no responsibility for cancellations or disruptions caused by bad weather, road closures, transport issues, or other unexpected events beyond our control.
10. Breach of Terms
- Failure to comply with these terms and conditions may result in immediate termination of stay without refund.
- Any illegal activity will be reported to the authorities.
11. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
